Johns Hopkins Program on Health Effects of Global Environmental Change

The Johns Hopkins University Program on Health effects of Global Environmental Change is committed to understanding the public health risks posed by global environmental and climatic change, through the pursuit of interdisciplinary scientific research and policy-relevant integrated assessment.

The program is nested within the world's top ranking School of Public Health, augmented by close ties to the Johns Hopkins Schools of Medicine, Engineering, and Arts & Sciences, as well as with other collaborating institutions.

The expertise of participating researchers spans the breadth of public health and environmental disciplines. Each member of the select team is a leader in his or her field and is internationally recognized.

In addition to strong foundations in environmental health and epidemiology, the program includes pioneers in the public health application of:

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and satellite remote sensing ;
Spatial statistical analysis ; and
Modeling and Integrated Assessment

all critical to determining the human health effects of regional ecological disruption or global climate change.

The research team comprises a well-established network of academic, government and private researchers already engaged in an integrated assessment of global environmental change.
